Breed History

"I am not a wolf... but I can be just as cunning!"

In reality a Sibe is no more closely related to a wolf than a Chihuahua is, and they started living with humans at much the same as other breeds.

Like other Spitz breeds Huskies do bear some of the characteristics of their wild ancestors such as their prick ears, their double coats, the proportions of their body and their long muzzles. All of these are natural adaptations to the harsh conditions they evolved in, in the Arctic North.

It is the Chukchi Indians living in Siberia who are credited with developing the Siberian Husky breed we know today.
