My Shining Star Part 2

By Simone Sheehan

Well in my last post I introduced you to our boy Seven, (Sev). I have added in another photo taken the same day as the last one.

His face just makes me melt... I took these photo’s myself and was absolutely ecstatic at the end results, thank god for digital cameras.

In my last post, I mentioned Seven's near miss with one of his beautiful eyes, we took Seven out to go woodcutting, a day out he loves with great excitement, and run, run, run all day long. He loves it. So he’s running along and decides he wants to challenge the thick scrub on the side of the road, he darts in and then back out about 15 metres up the track, now running along side of me I notice something protruding from his eye, it looked like a large prickle bur.  We pull over and hop out, Seven still running around as if nothing is going on, I call him over and he comes and lays down with his sore eye up as if to say take a look at this…Suddenly I realise it ain't no bur, it’s a piece of wood sticking out of his eye.

OOOhhhh my poor baby, so it was a mad dash back to town to call the vet out on the weekend, thank god for people who care about your pets. The whole way home Sev was trying to cuddle up and if it got knocked he let out the most excruciating yelp. So back at the vets Seven was having a nice sleep while the vet took the wood out. Turned out the piece of wood was the size of a large mans little finger.. Ouch Luckily the wood went between the socket and eye, so it did not harm his sight.

He is back to his normal self now. But boy didn’t he love all the attention…Hehe Seven even made the local newspaper – He is indeed our shining star.

Oh he makes our hearts melt!!!

Bye for now.  Simone.
